We get contacted every now and then by customers who have amazing stories about their flying career, or perhaps just adventures involving aviation. But how many people can claim that they were a Red Arrows pilot!
Today we’ve been contacted by Nigel Champness, who happens to be one of those customers. Whilst chatting to Nigel, he mentioned that he flew for The Red Arrows. In the 1970s, he flew with Red 9 (1976), and Red 5 (1977). Nigel very kindly sent us in this great photo of when he met up with his old original jet, it’s the exact one he flew. The aeroplane is called a Foland Gnat.
Nigel is one of our great ambassadors for the sunglasses. What better accolade than for a Red Arrows pilot to endorse them.
This is what he wrote in to us last week. “I am enjoying having a high-quality pair of glasses, the first for years.
