Since Love Island, Kady McDermott has gone from strength-to-strength as she has pursued her career in beauty and fashion with boyfriend Scott Thomas at her side – who she met on Love Island.
However, the 21-year-old reality TV star has decided to focus her energy on a subject close to her heart as she exclusively reveals latest project.
Talking exclusively to OK! Online, the brunette beauty explained that she is working with SFT, an animal sanctuary based in Tangier, Morocco.
Olivia Buckland’s friend explained: “I’m working with a charity based in Tangier, Morocco that focuses on looking after stray dogs as well as other animals such as cats, donkeys and birds.”
“Out there, all dogs are treated like strays, but this place looks after them.”
Eager to be hands on with the charity, Kady revealed her plans to visit the sanctuary soon – Le Sanctuaries De La Faune De Tanger – even though she anticipates the trip to be extremely upsetting.
The Essex girl said: “I’m heading out there next weekend which I am excited about, but I’m also a little nervous as it’s going to be upsetting.”
Kady first got in contact with the charity this year when the founder’s daughter contacted her on Instagram.
The reality TV star explains: “I got sent an Instagram message from the founder’s daughter asking me if I wanted to be involved and it really stood out to me.”
“It’s so important that I use my place in the public for charity work like this. Love Island was my platform, and now I can be the platform for this charity.”
SFT states that their mission is to: “Provide medical treatment and refuge for any animal in distress in Tangier, Morocco, North Africa.
“We relieve the suffering of animals of any species who are in need of care and attention.”
he charity also looks at educating the community on animal welfare as well as ‘love and compassion’ towards animals.
